Visit the island of Spinalonga (Greek: Σπιναλόγκα) located in the Gulf of Elounda in north-eastern Crete. Originally, Spinalonga was not an island – it was part of the island of Crete. During Venetian occupation the island was carved out of the coast for defence purposes and a fort was built there. In addition to the abandoned leper colony and the fortress, Spinalonga is known for its small pebble beaches and shallow waters.

Travel on the north-east coast with a boat ride on the picturesque bay of MIRABELLO.
The boat will take you from the port of ELOUNDA to the small fortified island of SPINALONGA. Accompanied by a professional tour guide you will stroll through the streets of the Venetian castle and get acquainted with the interesting history of the island.
