Daily boat trips to the island of Dia from Heraklion offer hour sailing cruise with an experienced captain.
The uninhabited island of Dia, located 6.5 miles from the capital of the island of Crete, Heraklion, welcomes guests in cozy bays, with crystal clear water.
Swimming with a mask you can watch the seabed and the rich underwater world, where the submerged antique port of this island is located. The bottom of the lagoon around the island of Dia is covered with a huge amount of broken ceramics. You can see fragments of vessels from different eras (from classical antiquity to the late Middle Ages). Often there are significant parts of jars or amphorae, which give the opportunity to present the original form of the vessel as a whole.
If desired, you can dive right from the deck of the ship or fish. And if you are going to explore the island of Dia itself, it is better to take comfortable shoes for this, because the landscape is rather stony. Dia island is under the protection of the UN and is a reserve for many rare animals, including the only goats of the "Cree-Cree" in their own way. Perhaps you will manage to meet them.
Catamaran crew serves lunch with local wine and fruit.
If you wish, the captain will allow you to participate in the operation of the Catamaran during the sailing trip from Dia to the Venetian port of Heraklion in Crete.
Drop-off at your hotel.
